Bryan Chiu:
I am a 17-year-old Hong Kong student who suffered from delayed scoliosis diagnosis. Although my condition is mild (only 17 degrees), it still impacted my life significantly, including limiting my athletic career and my mobility when I grow old. Just as we suffer more fear in imagination, I was horrified when I was suddenly forced into a new identity - becoming a chronic patient. Luckily, with the help of my teacher and mentor, I was able to connect with a fellow scoliosis patient who also suffered from a delayed diagnosis. Together, we found that late diagnosis is commonplace in many other countries. Hence, I decided to build a convenient and accessible early detection tool for teenagers.
